1. THE 22ND ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL WOMEN IN AVIATION INTERNATIONAL
CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD 24-26 FEBRUARY 2011 AT THE GRAND SIERRA
RESORT IN RENO, NV. THIS YEARS THEME IS INSPIRE, ENTHUSE, INNOVATE.
THE CONFERENCE IS SPONSORED BY WOMEN IN AVIATION, INTERNATIONAL
(WAI).
2. THE PURPOSE OF THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE IS TO FOSTER EDUCATION,
CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING, AS WELL AS PROVIDE NETWORKING AND
MENTORING OPPORTUNITIES TO MEMBERS OF THE AVIATION COMMUNITY.
CONFERENCE EVENTS INCLUDE: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS,
EDUCATORS WORKSHOPS AND RECURRENT TRAINING. ALL MILITARY SERVICES
ATTEND AS WELL AS CIVILIAN AVIATION PROFESSIONALS FROM AROUND THE
WORLD. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WILL BE A COAST GUARD BREAKOUT SESSION,
MENTORING EVENT AND NETWORKING SOCIAL FOR ALL COAST GUARD ATTENDEES
ON THURSDAY EVENING, 24 FEBRUARY.
3. THIS YEARS CONFERENCE WILL, FOR THE FIRST TIME, INCLUDE AN ALL
COAST GUARD PANEL. THE PANEL WILL FEATURE FIVE FEMALE COAST GUARD
PILOTS AND AIRCREW DISCUSSING THEIR PERSONAL EXPERIENCES AND THE
COAST GUARDS UNIQUE ROLE AMONG THE MILITARY SERVICES.
4. ATTENDANCE IS OPEN TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE AVIATION COMMUNITY, BOTH
MILITARY AND CIVILIAN, MALE AND FEMALE. COMMANDING OFFICERS ARE
HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND AND PROMOTE AND SUPPORT MEMBER ATTENDANCE
BY PROVIDING TIME AND FUNDING FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY. COS ARE
AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE TAD ORDERS AT GOVERNMENT EXPENSE. STRONG ENLISTED
REPRESENTATION, BOTH FEMALE AIRCREW AND LEADING CHIEFS, IS HIGHLY
