Toronto youth to celebrate the success of 'Take BAC'
Next Tuesday, Toronto youth will celebrate the success of Take BAC (Beautiful And Clean). The six-week, hands-on environmental stewardship program brought together 145 youth from under-resourced neighbourhoods to work on green and sustainable beautification projects in their communities.
Date: Tuesday, August 17
Time: 1 to 3:30 p.m.
Location: Evergreen Brickworks, 550 Bayview Ave.
The celebration will provide participants and leaders with an opportunity to showcase all 25 Beautiful And Clean community projects through displays and dialogue and also some friendly competition. Each of the top three projects will be awarded $300 to continue with their cleaning and beautification projects. The projects will be judged for their creativity, participation, attendance, use of funds, balanced budgets and final presentations.
This initiative is supported by the City of Toronto, Toronto Community Housing, Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation, Toronto Police Service, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, Evergreen and Green Collar Corps. More information about Take BAC is available at http://www.toronto.ca/takebac.
