Earlier this month, Alert sounded at Indian Point Power Plant - All is safe


Earlier this month, specifically November 7th. An alert was tripped at the Indian Point Nuclear Power plant in Putnam County due to a transformer fire.

“We were watching the situation very closely,” County Executive Robert J. Bondi said, “and if the situation had worsened, we would have taken every action necessary to protect the health and safety of our citizens".

The original alert at Indian Point did not pose any danger to the public.The Putnam County Emergency Operations Center had been activated and was operational since 7:45 pm.

Motion Center has added the poer point Emergency Message Alert Feed to the website, and will be following any future announcements closely.
