NFTA Route Changes as of October 31, 2010

Route Adjustments
Erie County/Local Routes
Metro Rail: Sunday service hours will be expanded
to run from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at
20-minute intervals. There will be no change
to weekday and Saturday service

Route 1 William: This route will continue to run
between Goethe Loop and downtown Buffalo,
with most trips serving Appletree Business Park
on weekdays until 6 p.m. Service to Appletree
after 6 p.m. and on weekends is discontinued.
Some late night trips on weekdays and Sundays
are also discontinued. Service will operate
at 30-minute intervals throughout the day on
weekdays. Weekend service between downtown
and Goethe Loop will be hourly.
Route 2 Clinton: Service will run between
downtown Buffalo and Fernwood Loop at 30-
minute intervals. Hourly service will extend to
the Bank of America Center until 6 p.m. via Indian
Church, Mineral Springs, Union, French
and Transit Roads. Service on Losson Road
to Appletree Business Park is discontinued.
Some late night weekday trips as well as early
morning and late evening Sunday trips are
also discontinued. Weekends will see hourly
service between downtown and Fernwood
Loop only.
Route 3 Grant: There will be no changes to the
current route but minor schedule changes.
Service on weekdays will run at 10-minute intervals
during peak hours, 15-minute intervals
midday and hourly after 8 p.m. Weekends will
see 30-minute intervals. The last roundtrips
on weekdays and weekends are discontinued.
Route 4 Broadway: Service will run between
downtown and Michael Loop at 15-minute intervals,
all day, on weekdays. Every 30 minutes
trips will continue to the Thruway Mall. Service
to Walden Galleria and Appletree Business Park
is discontinued. On weekends, this route will
run at 30-minute intervals to Michael Loop or
the Thruway Mall. A reduced number of trips
will continue to serve the Village of Sloan.
Route 5 Niagara/Kenmore: This route is combined
with the current Route 30 Kenmore and
operates between Metro Rail’s University Station
and downtown via Niagara Street, Vulcan
Ave, Tonawanda Street, Ontario Street and
Kenmore Avenue. This route will run at 15-
minute intervals on weekdays and 30-minute
intervals on weekends. Service north of Vulcan
Street, and along Sheridan Drive, will be
provided by new Route 35 West Sheridan.
Route 6 Sycamore: This service will run between
the Walden Galleria and downtown via Thruway
Mall at 15-minute intervals on weekdays and
30-minute intervals on weekends. Service beyond
the Walden Galleria, to Lancaster, will be
provided by the new Route 46 Lancaster with
60-minute intervals, on weekdays only.
Route 7 Baynes/Richmond: This route will run
between Forest Avenue and downtown at 30-
minute intervals during peak hours and at 60-
minute intervals midday on weekdays only
until 6 p.m. There is a new downtown routing
using Church Street, and North & South Division
to the Ellicott Loop instead of Seneca,
Swan and Washington to Amtrak Station.
Route 8 Main: This route will continue to operate
over the current 8A route, at 30-minute intervals
on weekdays and 45 minute intervals
on weekends. Current 8B service on Michigan
Avenue is discontinued. Also, some early
morning and late night trips are discontinued.
Route 11 Colvin: This service will run over the
current routing between the Tonawanda Industrial
Park and downtown, at 30-minutes intervals
on during peak hours on weekdays
and every 60 minutes midday, evenings and
weekends. Some early morning and late night
trips are discontinued.
Route 12 Utica: This service will run over the
current route at 15-minute intervals throughout
the day and 30-60-minute intervals after 7
p.m. on weekdays. On weekends, service
will operate at 30-minute intervals during the
day and 60-minute intervals after 6 p.m. All
trips will operate to/from Metro Rail’s University
Station and Main-Bailey Loop.
Route 13 Kensington: This route will operate
on Bailey Avenue, Ferry and Grider Streets at
15-minute intervals on weekdays and 30-
minute intervals on weekends during the day
and 40 to 60-minute intervals at night. Current
13B service on Main and Kensington
Streets is discontinued.
Route 14 Abbott: Service will operate from
downtown to Ridge Road and Abbott, at 30-
minute intervals on weekdays. Every other
trip will serve The Shops or continue south of
Ridge Road to the McKinley Mall and Erie
Community College. On weekends there is
hourly service to McKinley Mall. Service
along Willet Road, and to the Orchard Park
Commerce Center is discontinued.
Route 15 Seneca: This route will run between
Southgate Plaza and downtown at 15-minute
intervals weekdays during peak hours, 30-
minute intervals midday/evening, and 45 to
60-minute intervals on weekends. Service to
East Aurora is discontinued.
Route 16 South Park: Most service will run between
the Lackawanna-Victory Transit Center
and downtown Buffalo at 30-minute intervals.
Service will extend to the McKinley Mall via
South Park Avenue, Electric Avenue, and
Milestrip Road, at 30-minute intervals during
the peak hours and 60-minute intervals midday
and evenings.
Route 18 Jefferson: This route will run over its
current routing between Delevan College Station
and Seneca Street. The southern terminus is
changed to operate over Hamburg, South Park,

effective on October 31, 2010
To All Passengers:
Metro is adjusting routes and service levels to
make the whole bus and rail system more efficient.
This is necessary due to continued financial pressure
on our budget, less available operating assistance
and changes in riding patterns. The
adjustments are based on a thorough operational
and financial evaluation of the entire Metro system.
The adjustments are designed to improve service
for most Metro riders; however, we understand that
some riders will be negatively affected. Ultimately,
changes will result in transit that is financially
stronger and better for the majority of our riders.
Buseswill runmore frequently over the heaviest used
parts of routes, and less frequently over the lesserused
parts. Suburban service is redesigned to be
more efficient and easier to understandwith some
newroute names and numbers and fewer confusing
route and trip variations. Some route segments and
three entire routeswith lowridership are discontinued.
Most express routeswill run fewer trips.
We thank you for your patience and understanding
during this period of transition.
Route 24 Genesee: Most service will run between
the Andrews Loop and downtown at
15-minute intervals during peak hours and 30-
minute intervals midday. Service will extend
to the Buffalo Airport at 30-minute intervals
weekdays and at 60-minute intervals on
weekends. Service beyond the Airport, to
Wende / Erie County Home, is replaced by the
new Route 27 Erie County Home. Some trips
are extended beyond the airport to Holtz
Drive. Current 24P service to the Transitown
Plaza, and 24D service to the Cedargrove
area, is discontinued. Service along Harlem
Road to the Thruway Mall will be replaced by
Route 26 Delavan extension. Service along
Exchange Street to the Larkin Building is also
discontinued with alternative service provided
by Route 15 Seneca.
Route 25 Delaware: Most service will run between
Orchard Loop and downtown at 15-
minute intervals during peak hours, 15 to
30-minutes intervals midday and 30-minute
intervals on weekends. Service will extend to
Main/Niagara Transit Center in Tonawanda at
30-minute intervals weekdays and weekends.
25D service north of the Main-Niagara Transit
Center will be replaced by the new Route 57
Tonawandas.
Route 26 Delavan: The current route will be
extended to the Thruway Mall, via Genesee
Street and Harlem Road, and run at 15-minute
intervals during peak hours, 30-minute intervals
midday and 60-minutes intervals in the
evening until 11 p.m. Weekend service will
operate hourly between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Route 27 Erie County Home: This new route
runs between the Buffalo Airport and Wende /
Erie County Home, replacing part of Route 24
Genesee and Metrolink Route 203. The
schedule will include five round trips weekdays
and four round trips on weekends. Passengers
will need to transfer at the Airport.

Service on weekends will operate hourly over a
reduced span between 8 a.m. and 7.p.m.
Route 19 Bailey: This route will operate between
Metro Rail’s University Station and the
Bailey-Abbott Loop at 15-minute intervals
throughout most of the day on weekdays and
30-minute intervals on weekends. 19 B service
over McKinley Parkway to the Lackawanna-
Victory Transit Center is
discontinued. A reduced number of trips will
serve Dingens Street (New Buffalo Industrial
Park). Some late night trips on weekday and
weekends are discontinued.
Route 20 Elmwood: Service will run between
downtown and Orchard Loop via Elmwood,
Sheridan and Delaware at 15-minute intervals
during the day and 30-minute intervals during
the evening on weekdays. Service on weekends
will also operate to the Orchard Loop at
30-minute intervals during most of the day.
Trips to the Ensminger / Parkside area, and
the Main-Niagara Transit Center (20 T), are replaced
by service on two new routes: Route
35 West Sheridan and 57 Tonawandas.
Route 22 Porter/Best: This service is extended
to Thruway Mall Transit Center and
operates at 30-minute intervals during peak
hours weekdays, and 60-minute intervals midday
and weekends.
Route 23 Filmore/Hertel: This route will operate
between Marina Vista Apts and Bailey Abbott
Loop at 15-minute intervals during the
day on weekdays and 30-minute intervals on
weekends. To and from the Bailey-Abbott
Loop, the route will operate via South Park
Avenue in both directions. Service along Elk
Street is discontinued. Some late night trips
on Sunday are discontinued.
Route 49 Millard Suburban: This route will run
between Metro Rail’s University Station and
Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital via Millersport
Highway, Sheridan Drive, and Youngs
Road. at 70-minute intervals on weekdays
from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. There is no weekend
service. This route will not divert over International
Drive or Essjay Road.
Route 56 River Road: This route is discontinued.
Route 57 Tonawandas: This new route will replace
portions of the current Route 25D Deleware
and Route 20T Elmwood. Service will
run between the Main-Niagara Transit Center
and Ward Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard
via Payne Avenue, Nash Road, in North
Tonawanda, and along Broad Street, Hinds
Street and Main Street in Tonawanda running
at 60-minutes intervals on weekdays from 6
a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Niagara County Routes
Route 51 Military Summit: This route is discontinued.
Routes 50 University, 52 Hyde Park, 54 Military,
55 Pine Avenue: No Changes.
Metrolink Routes
Route 200 North Tonawanda: No change except
for minor scheduling adjustments.
Route 201 Lockport: No change except for
minor scheduling adjustments.
Route 203 Erie County Home Express: This
route is discontinued. Alternative service is
available from Buffalo Airport on the new
Route 27 Erie County Home.
Route 204 Airport/Downtown Express: No
change
Route 40 Grand Island: This route will continue
to operate between the Portage Road Transit
Center and downtown Buffalo over the current
route at 60-minutes intervals weekdays and
weekends.
Route 42 Lackawanna: This route will run between
Route 5/Odell Street and the Thruway
Mall, via Ridge Road, the Lackawanna-Victory
Transit Center, The Shops on Ridge Road,
Southgate Plaza, and Union Road, at 70 to
80-minute intervals. Service to McKinley Mall,
ECC South and Orchard Park is discontinued.
Route 44 Lockport: Most of this service will run
between Metro Rail’s University Station and the
CrossPoint Business Park at 30-minute intervals
during weekday peak hours and 60-minutes
intervals midday and evenings. There is
limited service on weekends. Service will continue
to Lockport hourly during peak hours and
every two hours midday, on weekdays only.
Route 46 Lancaster: This new route replaces
portions of the existing Route 6 Walden will run
between the Walden Galleria and Lancaster on
weekdays, at 60-minutes intervals. Service will
run along Walden Avenue, Central and Broadway
in a one direction loop. Route deviations
to Olmstead Avenue, Transit Road and Como
Park Boulevard will be discontinued.
Route 47 Youngs Road: This new route will replace
Route 30 Kenmore service. It will run
between Metro Rail’s University Station and
the Buffalo Airport, via the current 30C route,
at 30-minute intervals during weekday peak
hours and 60-minute intervals midday. There
is no weekend service.
Route 48 Williamsville: This route will run between
Metro Rail’s University Station and the
Eastern Hills Mall, via Erie Community College
North campus, at 30-minute intervals during
weekday peak hours. It will run at 60-minutes
intervals midday and 80-minute intervals on
weekends. Service into the Transitown Plaza
will be discontinued.
Route 29 Wohlers: This service will operate
over its current route. Service will run at 60-
minute intervals on weekdays from 7 a.m. to
10 p.m. Saturday service is discontinued
Route 30 Kenmore: This route is replaced by
Route 5 Niagara and Route 47 Youngs Road,
with improved service intervals along Kenmore
Avenue.
Route 32 Amherst: Most service will run between
Galleria Mall and Niagara Street via
Buffalo State College at 30-minute intervals
during the day and hourly at night. Additional
service will run between Huntley Loop and
Buffalo State, at 30-minute intervals during
weekday peak hours Service will operate
hourly on weekends.
Route 34 Niagara Falls Boulevard: Most service
will run between Metro Rail’s University
Station and Ridge Lee Road, via the Boulevard
Mall, at 15-minute intervals during peak
hours and 30-minutes intervals on weekends.
Service will extend with every other trip to
Amherst Development Park or the Audubon
Industrial Park at 30-minute intervals during
weekday peak hours and 60-minutes intervals
on weekends. Current 34M service to Northtown
Plaza will be discontinued.
Route 35 West Sheridan: This new route replaces
portions of Route 5 Niagara and Route
20 Elmwood and runs between the Vulcan
Loop and UB’s North Campus via Vulcan, Kenmore,
Two Mile Creek Road, Ensminger Road,
Sheridan Drive, Alberta Drive and Maple Road
to Flint Circle. It will operate at 30-minute intervals
during weekday peak hours and 60-minutes
intervals midday and on weekends.
Route 36 Hamburg: This route will continue between
Hamburg and downtown Buffalo via the
McKinley Mall and will run at 80-minutes intervals
weekdays. Service deviations to Electric
Avenue, Autumnview Manor and Clark/McKinley
Parkway are discontinued.

Route 75 West Seneca: This route will operate
between West Seneca and downtown Buffalo,
running two trips during peak hours in the
morning and in the late afternoon. One round
trip will utilize the current 75 H route. The
other will begin and end at Bank of America
on Transit Road and operate over Transit
Road, Seneca Street and Center Road. Service
to East Aurora is discontinued.
Route 76 Lotus Bay: This route will operate
over the current route between Lotus Bay and
downtown Buffalo via Angola, running two
trips during peak hours in the morning and in
the late afternoon. In addition, this route will
run one midday round trip and two early
evening return trips to Buffalo.
Route 79 Tonawanda: This route will operate
between the Main-Niagara Transit Center and
downtown Buffalo, with one trip in the morning
and one in the late afternoon. Service
north of the Transit Center will be discontinued.
Route 81 Eastside: This route will operate between
the University Station and downtown
Buffalo using the 81A routing via Bailey, Kensington,
Grider and Ferry, running two trips
during peak hour in the morning.

Route 64 Lockport: No change. This route will
run two trips during peak hours in the morning
and in the late afternoon.
Route 65 Amherst: No change, except this
route will run only one trip in the morning and
one in the late afternoon.
Route 66 Williamsville: This route will run between
the Eastern Hills Mall and downtown
via Main Street, I-90 and the Kensington Expressway.
Service into the Transitown Plaza
is discontinued. This route will run three trips
during peak hours in the morning and in the
late afternoon.
Route 67 Cleveland Hill: No change. This
route will run two trips during peak hours in
the morning and two in the late afternoon.
The 67B trip from Bailey and Kensington in
the morning is discontinued.
Route 68 George Urban: No change, except
this route will run only one trip in the morning
and one trip in the late afternoon.
Route 69 Alden: No change, except only one
trip in the morning and one in the late afternoon
will extend to Alden.
Route 70 East Aurora: This route will run between
East Aurora and downtown, with two
trips during peak hours in the morning and in
the late afternoon. One trip each peak will
use the 400 Expressway for faster service.
Service to Holland is discontinued.
Route 72 Orchard Park: This route will operate
between Orchard Park and downtown Buffalo,
running two trips during peak hours in the
morning and in the late afternoon. One trip
will utilize the current route over Orchard Park
Road, the other will utilize a modified 72P
routing and the 219 Expressway.
Route 74 Hamburg: This route will run between
the Athol Springs Park & Ride or Herman Hill
Road(North Boston) / Hamburg, and down-
Route 206 Buffalo State Circulator: This route
will operate on the Buffalo State Campus, and
to Tops and Wegmans at 40-minute intervals
on weekdays and weekends from 8:30 a.m. to
9 p.m.
Route 207 Elmwood Circulator: This route will
be discontinued in December.
Route 209 Medaille College Circulator: This
route will run at 10 to 20-minute intervals on
weekdays.
Route 210 Airport/Niagara Falls Express: This
route will operate April through October at
two-hour intervals.
Route 216 Gowanda/McKinley Mall: No
change except for minor scheduling adjustments.
Express Routes
Route 60 Niagara Falls: This route will run between
the Portage Road Transit Center and
downtown Buffalo via the Niagara Falls Transit
Center, The I-190 and Grand Island Boulevard.
The 60B variation using Hyde Park Blvd
and Buffalo Avenue is discontinued. There
are two trips during peak hours in the morning
and three trips in the late afternoon.
Route 61 Delaware: This route will run between
the Main-Niagara Transit Center and downtown
Buffalo. There will be two trips during peak
hours in the morning and in the late afternoon.
Service to North Tonawanda will be replaced
with Route 57 Tonawandas. Transfers can be
made at the Main-Niagara Transit Center.

Route 62 Parker: No change, except this route
will run only one trip in the morning and one in
the late afternoon.


Route 63 Riverside: No change, except this
route will run only one trip in the morning and
one in the late afternoon.
