Abram, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the McAllen Station seized 50 pounds of cocaine early this afternoon.

The seizure occurred while agents were tracking foot sign and spotted several people running south into a heavily wooded area. When the agents arrived at the location of where they last had visual of the individuals, they discovered two abandoned bundles of cocaine.
The cocaine is valued at more than $1.6 million and was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations.
