(Buffalo, NY - Erie County) This evening a meeting is being held in reference to NFTA and rates for riders. This was announced on WIVB this evening. According to an additional source: "meeting wasn't called by NFTA. It was called by Erie County Legislators."
As a NFTA Rider I can not understand why there would eb a NFTA related meeting and the NFTA public relations didn;t come forward and get as many individuals voices on the topics. It is not uncommon for metings in reference to NFTA service to be poorly promoted and then bus operators tell users almost word for word "Well, users had an opportunity to voice their concerns, now you have to live with the increases and route changes."
Wile the meetings are poorly promoted , there is a survey available on the site for users to offer an opinion on the futuire of NFTA Bus and Rail services in Western New York.
NFTA, although does not promote events very well, They have put a survey online. So if you missed the event tonight, here isan opportunioty to have your voice heard. Does it matter? Who knows, at least you can feel like you had some voice in matters. Mass transit is important because it is cheaper then auto ownership, safer then automobiles, and better for the environment. So everyone's voices should be heard. You pay taxes on it, so why shouldn't you have a say in the way the system operates?
