General Officer Announcements Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has made the following nominations: Air Force Col. Jeffrey K. Barnson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as mobilization assistant to the director of strategic plans, requirements and programs, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Air Force Col. Abel Barrientes has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general and for assignment as mobilization assistant to the director for operations, Headquarters U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii. Air Force Col. Kimberly A.
