CBP Arrests Wanted Fugitive at an Arriving Cruise Vessel

San Juan, Puerto Rico – Yesterday morning, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers identified a wanted 30-year-old male, Yaw Okyere Twumbaah, who had an outstanding warrant by Miami Dade Police Department authorities for various drug related charges.

Customs and Border Protection officers performing routine screening of arriving vessels at the Pan American Dock West in San Juan, PR, identified Mr. Twumbaah as a positive match to a National Crime Information Center docket.

Upon his arrival on board the M/V Serenade of the Seas, his identity and extradition were confirmed and he was turned over to custody of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations for extradition.

The outstanding warrant for Mr. Twumbaah details charges by Miami Dade Police Department for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia
