The City of Toronto's Transportation Services Division will be performing bridge rehabilitation work on the Gardiner Expressway from November 6 to 9. In order to undertake this work safely, a series of closures for the Gardiner Expressway will be required.
The closures are as follows:
• The eastbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway will be closed from the Humber River to Spadina Avenue on Saturday, November 6 at 11 p.m. to Sunday, November 7 at 9 a.m. for construction work on the Lakeshore Bridge over the Gardiner Expressway.
• There will be intermittent lane closures for the westbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway from Spadina Avenue to the Humber River as follows: Sunday, November 7 at 11 p.m. to Monday, November 8 at 5 a.m.; and Monday, November 8 at 11 p.m. to Tuesday, November 9 at 5 a.m. for construction work on the Lakeshore Bridge over the Gardiner Expressway. Throughout this closure, at least one lane will remain open to traffic.
Alternative routes available for motorists during these closures include the Queensway and Lake Shore Boulevard. Whenever possible, the public is encouraged to consider using public transit as a convenient alternative.
