The seizure occurred during an inspection of a commercial bus as it traveled through the Sarita Checkpoint. A K-9 team alerted to the luggage compartment of the bus and further inspection revealed close to 10 pounds of methamphetamine stitched inside the lining of a suitcase. Agents identified the owner, who claimed to be a Lawfully Admitted Permanent Resident. The man was placed under arrest.
The narcotics and the arrested individual were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for investigation.
